Part of the collection: ceramics
A small plate made of white faience. It constitutes a gravy jug base. The object is decorated with a colourful decal of four identical asymmetrical floral compositions inspired by Rococo or Far Eastern art. The decoration is composed of elements in sea green, interwoven with two large peonies. All that is surrounded with yellow and blue flowers with light green leaves. Between them and the plate rim, there is a delicate elongated mesh pattern marked with fine brown dots. The plate edge is rimmed with gold.
The reverse of the plate has a flat base, and in the its centre there is the manufacturer's signature “BOOTHS” (further imprint – illegible) stamped in maroon carmine: “BOOTHS/SILICON CHINA/”FLORADORA”. Thin glaze, transparent, free of cracks.
