Note stand Note stand made of white-painted metal, made in Vienna at the end of the 19th century, from the Potoccy collection. The note stand is quite large, and is made of a rectangular note panel and its tall base, shaped as a stander-rod. About halfway through the height, four legs protrude from it, bent to shape, ending in flat round panels. The note panel itself is made of metal (painted white), with the lower edge bent to support the notes; in the upper part, there is a cylinder with a light bulb to light the notes, with a movable cover to adjust the angle of light incidence. The rear part of the note stand has a grip bent upwards, with teeth to adjust the angle. The stand, together with nine others, is a piece of equipment of the castle theatre, and was used from the beginning of the 20th century (end of the reconstruction works at the castle), used by the castle orchestra. Note stands were used since early middle ages, and just like other everyday items followed the changing styles and fashions, adapting shapes and decorations depending on the time. They were mostly made of wood, frequently varnished, and examples of such panels are found in the museum collection, and displayed in the first and second floor.
