Status of digital accessibility

The website is partially compliant with the Act on the digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities due to the non-compliances and exceptions listed below.

Content that is not accessible

Despite our efforts, some content may not be fully accessible.

Non-compliance with the attachment

• in the descriptions of objects, incorrect language tags of part of the text or lack of tags may appear,

• some of the multimedia posted on the website is not available (3D Sketchfab models, GIS Spatial Information System maps) – these are embedded multimedia from external services over which the Museum of King Jan III's Palace at Wilanów has no influence,

• some photos of objects do not have exhaustive alternative descriptions, only shortened ones, consisting of the name of the object and information about the photographic shot. They are continuously supplemented,

• in the English language version of the service, there are Polish alternative descriptions for photos of objects.

Content not covered by the regulations

According to Article 3(2)(1) of the Act, maps are exempt from the obligation to ensure digital accessibility.

Accessibility Features

• buttons and form fields are described and accessible using the keyboard,

• the color contrast of content-conveying elements has a text-to-background brightness ratio of at least 4.5:1

• it is possible to navigate the site pages without using a mouse – only using the keyboard with standard keyboard shortcuts (with the exception of the above-mentioned exclusions regarding the digital accessibility of the website).

Everyone has the right to:

• submit a request to ensure the digital accessibility of the site or its element,

• request the provision of inaccessible information in another alternative form.

The request should include:

• contact details of the reporting person,

• indication of the site or site element to which the request relates,

• indication of a convenient form of providing information if the request concerns the provision in an alternative form of unavailable information.

Consideration of the notification should occur immediately, at the latest within 7 days. If it is not possible to ensure accessibility or provide access in an alternative form within this period, it should occur at the latest within 2 months from the date of the notification.

Additional information

Architectural accessibility

The Museum of King Jan III's Palace at Wilanów is a complex consisting of historical buildings and gardens. Continuous efforts are made to improve architectural accessibility.

Location, access and parking

The Museum is located in the Wilanów district of Warsaw, about 10 km from the city center.

• Public bus lines: 116, 130, 131, 139, 163, 164, 180, 200, 251, 264, 317, 339, 379, 519, E-2
• (Updated schedules are available on the Warsaw Public Transport website or the “Jak dojadę” app.)
• The nearest bus stop and parking area are about 300 meters from the palace. Access involves uneven surfaces, including cobblestones (“cobble stones”).
• A map of the palace and gardens is available for download on the museum’s website, indicating accessible paths and potential obstacles.

Access route to the museum

• From McDonald’s, cross the street at the traffic lights. Follow the sidewalk past several buildings and a church. The museum grounds begin after the church.
• A written description and audio recording of the route, including notable landmarks, is available on the museum’s website.
• Assistance dogs and guide dogs are welcome on museum grounds.

Ticket Office

• Located at ul. St. Kostki Potockiego.
• Access to the ticket office requires stairs.
• Visitors with mobility issues can call staff using a button on a post at the entrance.
• Tickets are also available via ticket machines and the museum website.

Palace

• The parking lot and the nearest stop are about 300 m from the palace. Several routes lead from the nearby bus stops and the parking lot to the palace. You can reach the museum directly on an uneven surface, which is partly made of cobblestones (so-called cat heads), and partly it is a HanseGrand surface. From the museum side, you can download a palace and garden plan with marked difficulties and architectural facilities. The plan indicates the most convenient routes to the palace from the nearest bus stops and from the parking lot. 

• The most convenient crossing is the strips with a light signal located at the McDonald's bar. We cross to the other side of the street, reach the fence, then we go right and we keep walking straight on the sidewalk. Along the way, we pass a series of buildings and a church on the left, after which the museum grounds begin. 

• The description of the route from the bus loop to the cash register and then to the palace is also available in a text format and as a verbal description in an mp3 format. 

• The museum box office is located in a building at St. Kostki Potocki Street. You enter inside via stairs. For people with mobility difficulties, a post with a special button is placed in front of the box office. After pressing the button, the cashier will come to you. 

• The entrance to the palace, available for people with mobility disabilities, is located in the right wing of the palace (from the Green Hall). 

• For people moving in wheelchairs, the ground floor of the palace and the park are available. The museum has deployable ramps that facilitate entering and exiting the palace and moving around the ground floor of the palace. IMPORTANT! Due to the historical character of the place, not all thresholds have been removed yet, and the length of the ramps that we can use in the current conditions allows to achieve a slope angle of 24% when entering and exiting.

• Please note! Due to temporary technical difficulties, people moving on electric wheelchairs temporarily do not have the possibility to enter the palace. Inconveniences will be removed as soon as possible.

• The first floor of the palace and the Banquet Hall and the -1 level are not accessible for people with mobility disabilities, especially those moving in wheelchairs. 

• In every room in the palace, there is a chair that a person needing a rest can use.

• Additional seating has been prepared in the North Gallery, the South Gallery, and the Raspberry Salon.

• A toilet adapted to the needs of people moving on wheelchairs is located in the Rose Garden. 

• You can enter the building and all its rooms with an assisting dog and a guide dog.

Orangery

• Only level 0 is available for visitors. 

• The entrance for visitors is accessed by steps with a total height of 36 cm. In addition, at the entrance, there is a threshold 6 cm high. The museum has deployable ramps that facilitate entering and exiting the Orangery.

• The space in the Orangery is large and accessible for people moving in wheelchairs.

Pump House

• The Pump House building is not accessible for people moving in wheelchairs.

• The path to the building is covered with an uneven surface. The space in front of the building is paved with a granite cobblestone with a hewn surface.

• In front of the entrance doors, there is a threshold 7 cm high.

• Inside the building, from the entrance area to the main Pump House area, where workshops are held, stairs lead (a total of 85 cm to overcome). At the moment, there is no possibility to overcome these stairs. According to the recommendations of the audit, the installation of a lift is being considered.

Villa Intrata

• The approach to the building is paved with an uneven surface – granite cobblestone with a hewn surface.

• The Villa Intrata building is not accessible for people moving in wheelchairs due to the stairs located at each of the three entrances to the building.

• An accessibility audit has been carried out for the building and we are working on implementing the optimal solution.

Toilets

• Accessible toilets are available in the Rose Garden and near the Orangery.
• The Orangery toilet features a changing bed (foldable, electrically adjustable) for adults and a baby changing table.
