Cup – small, faience, hemispherical with a slightly defined foot, decorated around the rim with a wide strip of plant decoration, consisting of a two-tone pattern of stylised poppies (burgundy-red flower petals, dark green stem leaves and poppies, passing between two brown stripes). The decoration consists of a symmetrically repeated pattern, which fits around the rim of the cup, featuring a cup-shaped poppy standing between two pairs of leafy, long, and S-shaped twisted stems with one ending in a poppy head and the other in a dormant bud. The foot, like the decoration strip, is bordered with a brown stripe. On the underside of the foot, there are two green stamped marks. One is the manufacturer's signature depicting an anchor in an oval, with the inscription S.B. and S /ENGLAND underneath, the other is the signature of the London store SOUTH AUDLEY ST/ T. GOODE&Co/ LONDON. W.
