Part of the collection: photography

Popularization note

The photograph depicts a metal figure of the Holy Mother, the Immaculata, on a stone, Gothic revival six-sided plinth and a four-sided, two-level base. On the plinth we see the inscription O/MARYJO! /BEZ/GRZECHU/POCZĘTA/ MÓDL SIĘ/ ZA/NAMI/ A.D./ MDCCCLII . The figure, with lanterns flanking it, is surrounded by a wrought Gothic revival fence. Then these photographs were made in the 1920s, the Holy Mother figure was located within the Łańcut park, as it stands now. It was on city property beforehand. It was only when Roman Potocki bought the land from the city, during the renovation works on the Łańcut residence as conducted by the 3rd ordinary, Roman Potocki, and his wife, Elżbieta Radziwiłł, that it was included in the park.
