Part of the collection: Photograph of Halina Olszewicka taken after her escape from the ghetto
Thanks to the participation of Polish officials in the issuing of the 'kennkarte', the practice of forging credentials was widespread. We do not know who issued the forged Kennkarte to Halina Olszewicka; the document indicates Rembertów as the place of issue. The adopted identity is: Maria Staniszewska, b. 12 February 1927 in Lviv. The following address was provided: ul. Czwartaków 39, from April 12, 1943 she allegedly lived at pl. Mirowski 9.
