The Blue Palace.

Part of the collection: photography

Popularization note

The Blue Palace was erected at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries for Bishop Teodor Potocki and rebuilt many times by successive owners and it was finally destroyed in 1939. In the years 1948-50, it was rebuilt according to the design of Z. Malicki and B. Zborowski for offices of various institutions, i.a. Municipal Department of Communication (now the Public Transport Authority). Since 2000 the building has been in private hands. In 2011 the building was abandoned by the Public Transport Authority (ZTM), and since then it has been waiting for renovation. The name of the palace comes from the colour of the roof with which it was covered. The palace is located at Senatorska Street in Warsaw.

The photograph shows a fragment of the building's façade, destroyed at the beginning of the war, without a roof and subsequent storeys.

The photo comes from the album of the Lubomirski princes from Przeworsk.
