Part of the collection: Lamps, chandeliers and sconces
Pair of standing candle holders, for single candles, from the Potoccy collection; it presently stands in the bathroom of the Parade Apartment in the first floor of the castle. The discussed candle holder, from the end of the 19th century, is made of polished crystal glass and brass. The foot is round, flat, polished, decorated in a geometric pattern along the entire surface, and transforms into a four-sided stem, wider at the base, narrower at the centre, and twisted at about half height. The stem moves to become a brass sleeve, decorated with a pearl and meander ornament, upon which rests a glass bobeche, shaped as a little bowl with its edge turned out, with an embossed geometric and floral pattern. Inside the bobeche bowl there is the inscription „CRICKLITE CIARKES PATENT TRADBNARK” and the company mark, e. g. a standing woman holding a star staff in her hand. The candle holders were made in England.
