Candelabra

The candelabra is a standing candlestick, relatively tall, in neo-Rococo style, with five candlesticks, dating from the 19th century. It is made of bronze, fully gilded, and is a chiselled casting. The base is quadrilateral with volute edges, supported on four legs. The two sides of the base are wider, decorated with a shell and a rocaille and an openwork ornament in the form of a beeswax slice. The two narrower sides are decorated with fish scales and a fleuron. Cup-shaped shaft. At the top the shaft expands into an ornament-covered bowl, from which four arms arise in an upward curve. Acanthus leaf arms, with candle rings formed by radially arranged acanthus leaves. Cup-shaped sleeves with turned-up rim, decorated at the top with fluting and at the bottom with acanthus leaves. Two identical candelabra form a whole with the clock and are exhibited in the Rococo Room on the second floor of the castle.
