Pot

Part of the collection: Metals

Popularization note

Pot with cover, from the Potoccy collection, of sheet copper, from the end of the 19th century. The pot is rectangular, with rounded shorter sides, slightly narrowing towards the bottom, with a cover and two grips. The grips are made of copper, protruding along the pot axis, fixed with decorative rivers on the shorter sides. The cover is flat, shaped similarly to the pot, with a rod grip at the centre. The grip is trapezoidal, extending towards the bottom, finished on  both sides with a decorative leaf; it is riveted to the cover in a decorative manner. The cover and pot bear the letter „P” and above the grip there is the number „36”. The item is displayed in the eastern corridor on the 2nd floor, where copper items (pots) are collected that mostly originate from the former castle kitchens.
