Jug – white, with an Art Nouveau painted decoration featuring a motif of stylised poppies. The jug rests on a round foot, tapering upward with an outwardly curved spout for easy pouring. An oval handle is positioned along the axis of the spout. Both the top and bottom edges of the jug are bordered by thin brown lines. The outer surface is adorned with two stylised poppy bouquets. The leaves, stems, and flower outlines are dark green and applied using a stencil, while the flower petals are hand-painted with a burgundy-red paint. The bouquets are symmetrically composed on either side of the axis formed by the central flower, depicted from above along with its stem. On each side, there are two flowers and two buds on long, curved stems with leaves (two long leaves spreading to the sides and one small leaf on the axis). The top of the handle is decorated with a drawing of a five-lobed, elongated leaf in brown paint. On the jug's foot is the manufacturer's signature, depicting an anchor in an oval, with the inscription S.B. and S/ENGLAND underneath. Next to it is the signature of the London store: SOUTH AUDLEY ST./T GOODE CO/ LONDON. W.
