RIDING CURB BIT, Whippy & Co., London, 19th/20th century
A decorative riding curb bit, in the style of an Arabian bit, with movable cheekpieces. The mouthpiece is smooth, cylindrical, with a small, flat eye in the middle, and a very large movable ring used for controlling the horse's tongue. The cheekpieces have rings and ¬hooks, along with movable rings at the ends.
It comes from the historic equestrian collection of the Potocki family from Łańcut.
